HRA
Traditional Health Reimbursement Arrangement
A Health Reimbursement Arrangement allows Employers to provide funds for employees to pay qualified medical expenses not reimbursed by the Group Health Plan.
MERP
Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan
A Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan allows Employers to provide funds for employees to pay qualified medical expenses not reimbursed by the Group Health Plan. This is the only type of HRA that allows employees to also contribute.
SpHRA
Spousal Incentive Health Reimbursement Arrangement
A Spousal Incentive Health Reimbursement Account allows Employers to incentivize employees to switch to their spouse’s insurance.
QSEHRA
Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement
Introduced in 2017, the QSEHRA allows small employers who do not provide a Group Health Plan to any employees to give funds to employees to purchase individual insurance or qualified medical items.
ICHRA
Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement
