FSA

Flexible Spending Account

A Flexible Spending Account allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars from their paychecks to pay for eligible medical, dental, vision, and/or dependent care expenses.

LPFSA

Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account

A Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account reimburses eligible dental and vision expenses only and is designed for participants currently enrolled in a Health Savings Account.

HSA

Health Savings Account

A Health Savings Account allows employees enrolled in a qualified high deductible health plan to contribute pre-tax funds to an employee-owned savings account.

POP

Premium Only Plan

A Premium Only Plan allows employee-paid health insurance premiums to be paid on a pre-tax basis.

EMPOWER offers a broad range of Health Reimbursement Arrangements that allow Employers to reimburse employees for qualified expenses.

HRA

Traditional Health Reimbursement Arrangement

A Health Reimbursement Arrangement allows Employers to provide funds for employees to pay qualified medical expenses not reimbursed by the Group Health Plan.

MERP

Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan

A Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan allows  Employers to provide funds for employees to pay qualified medical expenses not reimbursed by the Group Health Plan.

SpHRA

Spousal Incentive Health Reimbursement Arrangement

A Spousal Incentive Health Reimbursement Account allows Employers to incentivize employees to switch to their spouse’s insurance. It is a great way for self-insured Employers to save on their healthcare costs.

QSEHRA

Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement

Introduced in 2017, the QSEHRA allows small employers who do not provide a Group Health Plan to any employees to give funds to employees to purchase individual insurance or qualified medical items.

ICHRA

Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement

Introduced in 2020, the Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement allows all employers who do not provide a Group Health Plan to some or all employees to give funds to employees to purchase individual insurance or qualified medical items.

EBHRA

Excepted Benefit Health Reimbursement Arrangement

An Excepted Benefit Health Reimbursement Arrangement allows Employers to give employees funds to provide coverage for supplemental areas such as dental, vision, or pharmacy.

ROHRA

Retiree Only Health Reimbursement Arrangement

A Retiree Only Health Reimbursement Arrangement allows Employers to provide reimbursement to retirees for qualified medical expenses and/or supplemental premiums.

COBRA

COBRA Administration

EMPOWER administers COBRA for Employers to allow employees to continue coverage after employment termination.

Lifestyle Spending Account

A Lifestyle Spending Account allows Employers to give employees funds to spend on health and wellness expenses.

CBA

Commuter Benefits Account

A Commuter Benefits Account allows employees to save on mass transit and parking expenses associated with their work commutes.

AAFSA

Adoption Assistance Flexible Spending Account

An Adoption Assistance Flexible Spending Account helps employees save on adoption expenses.

SSP

Spousal Surcharge Program

A Spousal Surcharge Program allows Employers to charge employees a tax-free surcharge for spouse’s enrolled in the Group Health Plan.
