COBRA Administration

EMPOWER’s COBRA administration ensures that your company remains compliant with government regulations. The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) is a law passed by Congress in 1985 that mandates that a Group Health Plan (GHP) must give employees the ability to continue coverage after leaving employment.

Eligibility

Employers

Generally, employers with at least 20 employees are required to offer COBRA.

Participants

Former employees can elect to enroll in COBRA after termination.

Advantages of COBRA Administration

Employers

EMPOWER’S COBRA administration ensures that your company remains compliant with government regulations.

Participants

COBRA allows terminated employees and their spouses and dependents to continue group health coverage by paying the total premium (premiums formerly paid by the Employer and the employee).
